These terms apply when you use chorddaw.me, the browser-based chord-to-MIDI tool, or the downloadable ChordDAW plugin preview. By using ChordDAW, you agree to these terms.

What ChordDAW provides

ChordDAW converts written chord progressions into previews and MIDI data. The plugin is currently a free preview tested with Ableton Live 12 on Apple Silicon Macs. Compatibility with other systems or hosts is not promised.

Permitted use

You may use MIDI files generated by ChordDAW in personal and commercial music. You are responsible for the music, chord progressions, files, and other material you enter or create, and for ensuring that your use does not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

Software and website ownership

ChordDAW’s website, branding, interface, source code, and plugin remain the property of their respective owner and licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of ChordDAW itself. Third-party piano samples and libraries remain subject to their stated licenses.

No guarantee

Chord names can be ambiguous, and generated notes or MIDI may not always match the musical interpretation you intended. Review the piano roll and listen before relying on an export. ChordDAW is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChordDAW and its creator are not liable for lost work, lost data, lost profits, system problems, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the website, generated MIDI, installer, or plugin.

Safe and lawful use

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, overload forms or APIs, distribute malware, or use ChordDAW for unlawful activity. Access may be limited when necessary to protect the service or other users.

Changes and availability

Features, compatibility, downloads, and these terms may change as ChordDAW develops. The service may be changed, paused, or discontinued without a guarantee of continued availability.
